Why do people think they can take the law in their hand
Do they think that they must take a stand
At time it would be that they would listen to their pastor
even though they wanted to string someone to the rafter
as we see most of the land was bare and not workable
but some would think they could change while talking at the table
in the summer it would be hot and dry
as you hear the men while starting to cry
then you hear a cover wagon come to the house
and you can see the dirt on a women’s blouse
we see the water hole are starting to dry up
but there was enough for us to fill a small cup
the rail road is starting to lay their tracks
as we watch the men working hard breaking their backs
new building is being built in the town
and the streets are filled with harden grounds
but we know that there will the time
that we can go to the store and spend our dime
the saloon has been built so men can have their drink
and hold onto a woman giving them a small wink
but as we think what has happened in the past
to know that those hard time will never
