IN MATE

I sit in the steal bed talking to a man

Asking how I was doing as he slaps my hand

Then he turns and ask if I would like a drink

As he draws the water from the steel sink

The gray covered floor is always so cold

While I sit and think how I have turned so old

It’s hard to sleep with the noise all around

Then I think how it will feel to be able to sit on some grassy ground

Or just to be able to sit and look at the stars

While hearing the sounds from all of the smokey cars

Then he spoke in a soft and tender voice

Remember that day as a boy you made that choice

The door never opened as he started to disappear

But I heard him say someday we will give out a shouting cheer

So as I sit and think how this visit was so much fun

To realize that I was just visited by GOD’s Son
