As we kneel and pray to God every night
Hoping that tomorrow will be alright
Sometimes we ask for dumb things
How much longer will it take for it to be spring
We ask if it is possible to walk in your shoes
As somedays it is hard and we sing the blues
We ask if there will be money coming in
For the bills have piled up and don’t know where to begin
The knees start to hurt for we have been on them a while
As we cry out for help like a spoiled child
For it’s not for the gain that you ask for in your life
But God likes to hear the prayers that you give each night
Maybe as the day starts to come to the end
You should think of God as your best friend
So now it’s time for you to go to bed
Maybe you should take some time and read the Bible
And find the verse that says God is always able
To give you the hand that comforts your heart
For when it’s time for you to kneel you will know where to start
God looks in to your heart each day of your life
And knows when it’s time to set things right
