TOWNS END

We have the responsibility to work each day

Then on the weekend we watch some men go into the baseball field to play

We sit in the stands and listen to someone sing the opening song

As we drink our beer eat our popcorn while thinking there is nothing wrong

The game goes on as we watch our team

For we know this is how to let out some of our steam

There is so much trouble outside of our town

As we read the stories in the paper that makes our heart begin to frown

We watch a news reporter get off the greyhound bus

Asking if he could have a few minuets just to talk to us

There are so many questions he doesn’t know where to begin

With loosing so many jobs will this be the start to this wonderful towns end

Many new homes have been built over the years

And if we lose them it will bring so many tears

The rich in this country has always given us a bolt

As we watch how so many people made their vote

But now the question will always be there

For we learned they really didn’t care

So now we just have to wait to see how this will end

But through it all we still have many friends
