WE THE PEOPLE

Our fore fathers fought to make this country free

If they were alive today tears would be running at what they see

There once was a party over a 2 percent tax

And now we are told just to relax

We watch our freedom change like a songwriter’s beat

For they want us to think they are giving us a treat

They change the wording using it like bait

Telling us the times have change and the spending is great

They stand and say it is for the best for all of the people

But you could stuff all of them in the church’s steeple

There are taxes for incomes as we work on our job

But years ago wasn’t it known as the mob

Our freedom was fought so we would have a choice

But we learn they don’t want to listen to our voice

We work hard to save for when we get old

But the rising taxes will put us out in the cold

Our military will fight for the freedom of this land

But our rights to bear arms is getting out of hand

We the people on the paper is what we will read

But it gets changed because of someone’s pride or greed
