I am nineteen and go through life with out any fears
Working at a job so my friends can have a weekend cheer
Not listening to my parents thinking I know it all
As I spend all of our money at the fancy mall
We sit and drink our booze under the umbrella shade
Not worrying about the bills that need to be paid
Then one day I was told the bad news
That there is no job so there can’t by any booze
I wonder around for there is no place to call home
For there is nothing left for us to even get stoned
My friends have left and the party has stopped
As life has hit me like a giant rock
There is a bright light under the giant tree
For it is my mother who has been looking for me
It is hard to explain the love that she has shown
That has eased the pain from feeling all alone
So now the years have past and there is a wonderful wife
Because I have been blessed with children in my new life
So as the sun sets at the end of each day
I think of the love from my parents in a different way
