LOOKING FOR A CHANGE

If I was to sit and write a song of today I wouldn’t know what to say

For the times are getting bad and it not even safe to go out to play

We are teaching our children that violence is the only thing we understand

For the T V programs shows about the killing and it has even gotten out of hand

To sit on a bar stool or at the coffee table is the worst place to be

For the example can’t be shown if we just try to hide behind a tree

There must be something we can do in our life to turn this world around

For it is sad to see the children walking around with nothing more than a frown

We may not know how to work the new toys but we still have something to say

Even if the children don’t sit on your knee to listen we can still show then a new way

The angels have work hard to give us their love that is need to be shared each day

So with a smile or just a soft voice they may want to hear what you have to say

As we take a walk through the park you can see all the trash

And do you wonder why under the swings you can see some grass

The rivers have changed from the trash left behind

And sometimes smell like it came from a sulfur mine

The air in the towns isn’t fit to breath

And our eyes begin to burn from the soft breeze

The world won’t be fixed in just one night

But with your help we can start the great fight

So maybe a challenge for us as we start the new day

Is to think how we can help just so the children will have a place to play
