BEDRIDDEN

I am laying in a bed because of my sickness

Listening to the children playing for they have no weakness

So I want to fall asleep so I can start to dream

How I am running in a field and just jump across the small stream

It feels so good to have the grass between my toes

And be able to smell the flowers with my nose

I see the animals as they start to charge at me

And at the last second my friend lifts me into a tree

We sat and watch the animals as they would go to drink

And I said to my friend I think the buffalo just gave me a wink

The sun is starting to set as it is shining in my eye

So I turned my head and started to cry

There was my friend sitting and holding my hand

The warmth and strength made me feel so grand

So I hear the nurse as she tells him the doctor will be in

As he stands their and tells me there is a chance I will never walk again

So I sit and think of all the things I took for granted

And wonder if I will even be able to see the rest of the planet

So as you read this little poem may it in courage you someway

To go out for a walk and see all the beauty we have each and every day
